DEI Profiler
This page isolates DEI-related ConceptSearch evidence in USAJOBS postings. The DEI term list used for the TrumpDEIList measures is from the New York Times interactive article on terms removed from federal agency websites. Protected-class terms and research-team DEI labels are shown separately where available.

Comparison of posting cohorts
For postings starting July–December 2024 versus April–September 2025, broad-list matches per posting fell from 4.31 to 3.78 (12.24%). The denominator counts distinct postings with an occupation code, once per posting.
| Posting start dates | Postings | Broad-list matches | Matches per posting |
|---|---|---|---|
| July–December 2024 | 178,936 | 770,361 | 4.3052 |
| April–September 2025 | 77,055 | 291,139 | 3.7783 |
This broad list includes generic terms such as “status,” found in every posting in these cohorts. These values describe keyword intensity, not the prevalence of substantive DEI content. They use different terms and date windows from the manuscript’s four-term monthly comparison: diversity, equity, inclusion and DEIA declined 72% per active posting between January 2025 and March 2026. See Federal postings for that indexed series.
The counts can be reproduced with python dashboard_source/bin/check_dei_denominator.py /path/to/usajobs_v4.duckdb in the source repository.
The earlier version divided matches by rows produced by joining postings to their matches. That denominator counted some postings repeatedly. The comparison above corrects it; the decomposition based on the earlier denominator has been withdrawn.
Source Notes
DEI TrumpDEIList terms are from the New York Times interactive article linked above. The dashboard distinguishes these from protected-class and other research-team DEI labels because some DEI-category rows appear in nearly all federal postings as standardized equal-opportunity or protected-class language. Monthly and department comparisons use AGGR_DEIBySubcatMonth, AGGR_DEIKeyTermsByMonth, and AGGR_DEIByDeptSubcat.
